Michael Varverakis is a long time veteran of the Detroit music scene.  He has been performing in and around the Detroit area for over 30 years.  He began his musical education at the age of 7, studying piano until he “heard Van Halen” at the age of 14.  2 years later he switched from piano to guitar and in 1992, while studying music theory and composition at Wayne State University, he began his professional musical career with his duo Four Hands.  Four Hands were a critically acclaimed Detroit based acoustic guitar duo, garnering several Detroit Music Award nominations. The duo received strong regional airplay on college and public radio stations in Detroit and neighboring areas. Having performed nearly 1200 gigs, Four Hands were coined the “hardest working duo in Detroit” by the Detroit Metro Times.  Michael recorded 12 albums with his duo and another 5 solo guitar albums over the years.  He currently performs as a solo guitarist along with bassist Alex Varverakis and drummer Jake Segall.
